Doreen Kay Cardamone
Doreen Kay Cardamone, 49, of 68 E. Main Street, Mount Jewett, passed away Monday (June 8, 2015) at UPMC Hamot in Erie.
Born on September 28, 1965, in Kane, she was the daughter of William R. and Mary Lou Simons Carl.
Doreen was a graduate of Kane Area High School, Class of 1983. She had been employed as a bartender and cook in several Mt. Jewett area establishments and also served in the U.S. Army from which she was honorably discharged.
She was a member of the United Methodist Church and the Mt. Jewett American Legion Post 0574.
Doreen was a kind soul who loved the company of other people. She enjoyed spending time with her friends and family. Through years of bartending and cooking in the Mt. Jewett area, she developed close relationships with the people she encountered and formed many long-lasting friendships.
She had close friends that she held dear to her heart and enjoyed spending time fishing with them, shopping and just talking and hanging out. Doreen cared deeply for those she loved, both friends and family, and was always quick to offer kindness and support. She would do anything for the people she cared about.
Her kind spirit will be sorely missed by all who knew and loved her. Rest in peace Doreen.
Surviving are her father, William (Joann) Carl of Mt. Jewett; a brother, Dan Carl of Bradford; three sisters, Darla (Gary) Smith of Ocala, FL, DeeDee Wallin of Colorado Springs, CO and Diane Ayala of Bradford. Twenty-five nieces and nephews also survive.
She was preceded in death by her mother, Mary Lou Simons Carl; a brother, Donald R. Carl; a niece, Helena Moffett; and her maternal and paternal grandparents.
Friends and family may attend a memorial service at 2:00 p.m., June 27,2015, at the United Methodist Church with the Rev. W. Craig Smith, pastor, officiating.
Memorial donations may be made to the Mt. Jewett Memorial Library, Main St., Mt. Jewett, 16740 or the Mt. Jewett Food Bank, United Methodist Church, 16 Boyd St., Mt. Jewett.
