Robert L. Jones
Robert L. Jones, 83, of 100 High Point Drive and formerly of 326 Chase Street, passed away at Kane Community Hospital on Saturday (January 17, 2015).
Born August 27, 1931, in Johnsonburg, he was a son of the late Lawrence and Gertrude Zilkofski Jones. He was married to Jean Hurley Jones who preceded him in death in 1999.
Bob served in the U.S. Navy during the Korean War. Before his retirement, he was employed by Stackpole.
He was a member of the Kane Fish and Game Club and the Delaware State Chapter of the National Wild Turkey Federation. He also enjoyed making trips to Delaware to watch his granddaughters’ softball games and dance recitals.
Surviving are a son William (Jodi) Jones of Magnolia, DE; two granddaughters, Kelsey Jones and Megan Jones, both of Magnolia; and a sister, Joanne Thompson of Emporium.
In addition to his wife and parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, Tom Jones.
Friends will be received at the Cummings Funeral Home, Inc. on Tuesday from 2:00 to 4:00 p.m. and 7:00 to 9:00 p.m. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11:00 a.m. Wednesday at St. Callistus Catholic Church with the Rev. Philip Pinczewski, pastor, officiating. Burial will be in St. Callistus Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Kane Fish and Game Club, R.D. #2, Kane, PA 16735 or the Lutheran Home at Kane, 100 High Point Drive, Kane, PA 16735.
