William L. Reinard
William L. “Bill” Reinard, 80, of 112 Fraley Street, Kane, died late Thursday evening, December 25, 2014 at his residence.
Born June 9, 1934 in Kane, he was the son of Walter and Leona Reisinger Reinard. On June 11, 1994, he married Joyce L. Larson Bush, who survives.
Bill served in the U.S. Army during the Korean War, discharged at the rank of corporal. He worked for the former Market Basket in Kane, then co-owned and operated the former Reavley Hotel in Kane along with his mother.
He was a member of the First Church of God, the Loyal Order of Moose, a life member of VFW Post #1132, all in Kane, and the American Legion in Ludlow where he held various positions. Bill was an accomplished harmonica player as well.
Surviving, in addition to his wife, are a son, Robert W. Reinard of Falls Church, Va.; stepsons Donald Bush, Jr. of Kane, John Bush of Clarendon and James Bush of Bradford; a stepdaughter, Beverly Austin of Kane; plus 13 step-grandchildren and 22 step-great grandchildren. He was preceded in death, besides his parents, by a brother, Kenneth Reinard and a daughter, Debra Reinard, in infancy.
Friends may call at the Ronald McDonald II Funeral Home, Inc. in Kane on Sunday from 3:00 to 5:00, and may attend a funeral service at 11:00 on Monday at the First Church of God with the rev. Chad Troup, pastor, officiating. Burial will follow in Gibbs Hill Cemetery, Ludlow.
