Lewis F. “Junior” Greenman

Port Allegany – Lewis F.”Junior” Greenman, Jr., 87, of, Smethport, formerly of Turtlepoint, died Sunday (November 30, 2014) in the Sena Kean Manor, Smethport.

He was born Sep 22, 1927 in Hilton, NY, a son of Lewis F and Dorothy Stocking Greenman, Sr. On Sept. 2, 1947 in Smethport, PA, he married Donna J. MacKenzie, who died April 22, 2009.He was a veteran of the U.S. Army Air Corps, serving during WWII.

Mr. Greenman worked for South Penn Oil in the oil fields and for Quaker State Oil Refinery in Farmers Valley. He later worked as an operator for Penelec retiring in 1987. He was well known for his guitar playing for several local bands including “Blue Denim” which he played with his sons Brad and Gary.

He is survived byThree daughters: Diana (Chuck) Zetwick of Turtlepoint, PA, Eileen (Rod Kelly) Smith of Olean, NY and Myrna Drugg of Roulette, PA Two sons: Bradley “Brad” (Jennifer) Greenman of Port Allegany, PA, and Eugene “Buzzy” (Annie) Greenman of Port Allegany PA16 Grandchildren and 18 great grandchildrenThree brothers: Bert and Merle “Bucky” Greenman of Wellsville, NY and Keith Greenman of Athens TXTwo sisters: Martha Feick of Friendship, NY and Edith “Dolly” Meyer of Wellsville, NY.

He was preceded in death by his parents, wife and a son Gary Greenman in 1998, one brother Frank and one sister Agnes.

Visitation will be held on Wednesday, December 3, 2014 from 5-8 PM at Hartle-Tarbox Funeral Homes, Inc, 105 N Main St, Port Allegany, PA. Funeral and committal service will be held on Thursday, December 4, 2014 at 11:00 am in the funeral home with the Rev. Max Simms, pastor of the Hilltop Baptist Church, officiating, Burial will be in the Grimes Cemetery, Port Allegany.

Military Honors will be accorded by the American Legion John Berg Post 976 Honor Guard. Memorials may be made to the Sena Kean Manor Activity Fund or to the charity of the donor’s choice.
