Allen W. Buzard

Allen W. “Buzz” Buzard, 84, formerly of 211 1/2 Tionesta Avenue, Kane, died Saturday afternoon, November 22, 2014 at The Lutheran Home at Kane.

Born March 19, 1930 in Corsica, he was the son of Reynolds L. and Mary A. Coulter Buzard. On May 3, 1948 in Brookville, he married Mary L. McAninch, who survives.

Mr. Buzard had worked at the family business, R.L. Buzard Lumber in Jefferson County, for fifteen years; Howes Leather in Mt. Jewett for eighteen years, and finally for RichGas in Kane for 37 years. He retired to Surfside Beach, S.C. in 2009 for four years, returning to Kane in 2012.

He was a member of the First Church of God in Kane and the Oasis of Hope Church in Surfside Beach, and enjoyed gardening.

Surviving, in addition to his wife, are two sons, Allen W. (Susie) Buzard, Jr. of Jamestown, N.Y. and Leonard Buzard of Antioch, Calif.; a daughter, Sandra (James) Stanton of Surfside Beach, S.C.; two sisters, Mary Lea (Harry) Moberg and Bonnie Buzard, both in Ohio; a daughter in law, Cindy Buzard of Kane; plus ten grandchildren, eleven great grandchildren, one great great granddaughter and several nieces and nephews. His beloved dog Ginger also survives.

He was preceded in death, in addition to his parents, by a son Ronald Buzard; brothers Raymond, Reynolds C., Arthur and Bennie Buzard; sisters Cecilia Bookwalter, Hilda Mae Carcia, Bernice Bookwalter and Pauline Loftis; and a great grandson, Zane Buzard.

Friends may call at the Ronald McDonald II Funeral Home, Inc. in Kane on Wednesday from noon until 2:00, at which time a service will be held there with the rev. Chad Troup, pastor of the First Church of God, officiating. Interment will follow in Mt. Tabor Cemetery, Kane.

Memorial contributions may be made to a church or charity of the donor’s choice.
