VIDEO: Bradford Area School Bus Illegally Crossing Weight Restricted Bridge, AGAIN

In the video, this school bus has just crossed the Elm Street bridge illegally. According to the source, this video was shot after a person reported it to the school district that busses were crossing the weight restricted bridge and was told it wouldn’t happen again.

The bridge is restricted to 3 tons (6,000 pounds, 2,000 a ton) because the bridge is very old and decrepit.  According to PennDOT, bridges are weight restricted if it’s found they cannot carry certain loads and could collapse under higher loads.

On average, a 38′, 84 passenger school bus weighs in between 11 & 14 Tons (22,000 to 28,000 pounds) curb weight without passengers. When you add the school children, the total weight could go up to 47,000 pounds.
