New Website and Social Media Presence for Pennsylvania Council on the Arts
Harrisburg – The Pennsylvania Council on the Arts (PCA) today announced the launch of its new website at a new address, www.arts.pa.gov. The website also provides links to PCA’s Facebook and YouTube pages.
“It is easy to navigate, has responsive design, and offers greater access and clarity to our customers, including people applying for state arts funding,” said executive director Philip Horn. “Combined with our growing social media presence, we hope this new website will allow us to better connect with people across Pennsylvania, sharing with them the benefit of the arts, and opening up the conversation about best practices and lessons learned with our constituents.”
The new site makes finding information easier for all users, from the general public to the long time grantee. The PCA recognizes that each user has a different reason for visiting the website and implemented that into the new design.
There are three main navigation headings:
- Who We Are; this provides a general overview and history, lists Council members and introduces staff.
- What We Do; includes pages on how to apply for funding and manage your grant award; details on Arts in Education residencies, Folk and Traditional Arts Apprenticeships, the Preserving Diverse Cultures Division, Pennsylvania Partners in the Arts (PPA), and Arts in Education (AIE) Partners; plus, information on services and annual events like Poetry Out Loud and the Governor’s Awards for the Arts
- What You Do; includes stories from our constituents. For this launch, PCA posted “Impact” stories by our PA AIE Partners as well as the “Best of the Best” project grants from our PPA Partners, located on our Pennsylvania Council on the Arts new YouTube channel. The homepage links to the recently created Facebook page, which highlights activities in arts and culture across the Commonwealth.
Key to the new site is that it is mobile ready with responsive design and allows staff updating using Microsoft Sharepoint Content Management System (CMS.)
