Screenwriter and filmmaker to visit Pitt-Bradford campus

BRADFORD, Pa. – Sam Zalutsky, screenwriter and filmmaker, will visit the University of Pittsburgh at Bradford next week to talk about his work, which includes short films, web series and the psychological horror film “You Belong to Me.”

Zalutsky will speak at noon Oct. 9 in the Mukaiyama University Room in the Frame-Westerberg Commons. His presentation is part of the Spectrum Series that is free and open to the public.
During his presentation Zalutsky will showcase some of his works including video clips, art pieces and writing examples.

Zalutsky has screened films at the Palm Springs International Film Festival as well as 15 LGBT festivals on four continents, and his previous short films “Silver Bell” and “Smear” screened at various film festivals worldwide.

In addition, he is also the creator, director and producer of the comedy web-series “The Go-Getters,” which can be viewed online at thegogetters.net.

“You Belong to Me, ” his first feature film, was shortlisted for the Independent Spirit Award’s “someone to watch award,” and can be viewed on both Netflix and Amazon.com.

Zalutsky has a Bachelor of Arts degree in art from Yale University and a Masters of Fine Arts degree from New York University’s Tisch School of Arts. He has previously taught at Bennington College, NYU’s Tisch School of Art, the New York Film Academy and Tec de Monterey in Queretaro, Mexico.

He currently teaches screenwriting at Spalding University in Louisville, Ky.
