Jennifer M. Hughes

Jennifer M. Hughes, 44, of Bradford, passed away on Sunday, May 11, 2014 at her home. She was born on November 12, 1969 in Atlanta, GA, a daughter of Joanne M. Brown Meconi. She was a 1987 graduate of the Glen Ridge High School, Glen Ridge, NJ and a graduate of Edinboro University where she earned her bachelor’s degree in elementary education and her master’s degree in special education.

On September 23, 1995 in the St. Bernard Catholic Church she married Stephen C. Hughes who survives. She was most recently employed by Beacon Light Behavioral Health Systems and the St. Bernard School as a substitute teacher. She was a member of the St. Bernard Catholic Church and a sister of the Alpha Sigma Tau sorority.

She enjoyed travelling, photography, scrapbooking and playing cards; those that knew her knew that she had an overall love for life and for other people. In addition to her husband, Stephen Hughes of Bradford and her mother, Joanne (Cliff) DeWolfe of West Bloomfield, MI, she is also survived by two sons, Brandon and Ryan Hughes both of Bradford, one step son, Andrew Hughes of Bradford, one sister, Alicia Velazquez of Grand Blanc, MI and several loving aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be held on Tuesday, May 13, 2014 from 2:00 to 4:00 and 6:00 to 8:00 PM at the Mascho Funeral Home, Inc. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 12:00 PM on Wednesday, in the St. Bernard Catholic Church with the Rev. Raymond Gramata as celebrant.

A Christian wake service will be held at 5:45 PM Tuesday in the funeral home. Memorial contributions in her memory can be made to the American Cancer Society, 95 Main St., Bradford, PA 16701 or the St. Bernard School, 450 West Washington St., Bradford, PA 16701.

Funeral arrangements are entrusted to the care of the Mascho Funeral Home, Inc.
