Glenda R. Causer, 77, of 404 Dewey Ave., Hazel Hurst, went into the loving arms of Jesus, surrounded by her family, on Wednesday (March 5, 2014) at Kane Community Hospital.
Born April 14, 1936, in Shawmut, she was a daughter of the late Harry and Martha Pontious Himes. On January 29, 1955, she married Claude Causer Jr. who survives.
Glenda was employed by the Lutheran Home at Kane before her retirement. She was a life-long member of the Hazel Hurst United Methodist Church.
Surviving in addition to Claude, her husband of fifty-nine years, are four children, David (Sue) Causer, Ronnie (Bonnie) Causer, Barb Causer and Deb Causer, all of Hazel Hurst; five grandchildren, Misty (Bill) Baldwin, Melissa (Jerry) Causer, Travis (Kayla) Causer, David Paul (Nikki) Causer and Chad Wilson; eight grandchildren, Shelby, Tyler, Jaden, Joshua, Justice, Levi, Baya and Kirra; and two step-great grandchildren, James and Kylee. She also is survived by her beloved cat, Angel.
She was preceded in death, besides her parents, by six brothers, two sisters and one grandson.
Friends will be received at the Cummings Funeral Home, Inc. in Mt. Jewett on Friday from 7:00 to 9:00 p.m. Funeral services will be held 1:00 p.m. Saturday at the Hazel Hurst United Methodist Church with the Rev. W. Craig Smith, pastor, officiating. Burial will be at Bridgeview Cemetery.
Memorial donations may be made to the Hazel Hurst United Methodist Church.
