Bizzak, Mary A.

Mary A. Bizzak, 98, formerly of 317 West Pine Avenue, Kane, died Saturday evening, October 19, 2013 at The Lutheran Home at Kane, where she had resided for the past few years.
Born January 14, 1915 in Dahoga, she was the daughter of Joseph and Rose Simcic Ulyan. On June 20, 1936 in Kane, she married Joseph F. Bizzak, who died in 2006.
Mary operated a boarding house in Westline and drove school bus there. She and her husband were in the logging business for many years, and, after her retirement, was a cook in the Chestnut Street Elementary School in Kane.
She was a member of St. Callistus Catholic Church in Kane, where she belonged to the Catholic Daughters of America and the Altar Rosary Society. A volunteer for Meals on Wheels, Mary started bowling at the age of 71 and continued until she was 93. She also enjoyed gardening and babysitting her grandchildren.
Surviving are a daughter, JoAnn (Frank) Bergman of Kane; three sons, Joseph (Joan) Bizzak, Jerry (Karen) Bizzak and Steven (Marcy) Bizzak, all of Kane, plus 13 grandchildren, 24 great grandchildren and two great great grandchildren.
Preceding her in death, besides her husband and parents, are a daughter Judy Bizzak as an infant; a grandson and great granddaughter, both in infancy; and sisters Fannie Gerbec, Stella Johnson, Rose Skerl, Josephine Bizzak and Gertrude Rolick, and brothers Melan, Frank and Joseph Ulyan.
Friends may call from 6:00 until 9:00 on Tuesday at the Ronald McDonald II Funeral Home, Inc. in Kane, and may attend a Mass of Christian Burial at 11:00 on Wednesday at St. Callistus Catholic Church with the Very Rev. Philip Pinczewski as Celebrant. Interment will follow in St. Callistus Cemetery, Kane.
Memorial contributions may be made to St. Callistus Catholic Church, 342 Chase St., Kane, PA 16735, or to The Lutheran Home at Kane, 100 High Point Drive, Kane.
