Karen Ann Rothrock
Karen Ann Rothrock, 69, of Ludlow and Pittsburgh, passed away unexpectedly at Kane Community Hospital on Sunday (September 15, 2013.
Born September 7, 1944, she was a daughter of the late James G. and Donna Jones Rothrock, who had made Ludlow their second home when Karen was a child.
Prior to retiring, Karen was a well-known and respected independent contractor to Public Television for development of documentaries.
Karen was very active in the Ludlow community and was instrumental in the revitalization of Wildcat Park. She was the current president of the Wildcat Park Auxiliary and past secretary of the Ludlow Community Association.She attended Moriah Lutheran Church in Ludlow and led a women’s bible study, often in the park. She will be missed by close friends from both the Pittsburgh and Ludlow areas.
Surviving are her cousins, Susan (James) Patterson and family and Robert B. Jones. Her beloved canine friend, Daisy, will have a home in Pittsburgh with friends.
Friends may attend a memorial service at 3:00 pm Sunday, October 13, 2013, at Wildcat Park in the DeForest Pavillion. Details for a memorial service in Pittsburgh will be announced at a later date.
Memorial donations may be made to either the Wildcat Park Auxiliary, Box 179, Ludlow, PA 16333 or St. James Anglican Church, 501 Jefferson Rd., Pittsburgh, PA 15235.
The Cummings Funeral Home,Inc. is in charge of arrangements.
