Meckley, David E.

David E. Meckley, 46, of 130 Greeves Street, Kane, formerly of Lamont, died Saturday, August 31, 2013 in the Intensive Care Unit at the Kane Community Hospital.
Born August 29, 1967 in Kane, he was the son of Robert G. and Rebecca E. Campbell Meckley.
A graduate of Kane Area High School, David lived most of his life in Kane. Prior to his illness, he was a caregiver for Concerned Care in Kansas City, Mo., and had volunteered for many years at The Lutheran Home at Kane. He was a member of the First United Methodist Church of Kane.
Surviving are his mother and stepfather, Rebecca and Clyde Hottel of Kane, his father, Robert (June) Meckley of Lakeland, Fla., a brother, the rev. Robert (Fran) Meckley of Elkhart, Ind., a sister, Sharon (David) McKinney of Warminster, plus step siblings Colleen Masi, Matt, Mark and Greg Hottel and Tim, Steven and Mathew Lawton. Four nephews, two nieces, four great nephews and two great nieces also survive.
Friends may call at the Ronald McDonald II Funeral Home, Inc. in Kane on Wednesday from 7 to 9, and on Thursday from 10:00 until 11:00, at which time a service will be held at the funeral home with the rev. Brian Aul, pastor of the East Kane United Methodist Church, and the rev. Robert Meckley, his brother, pastor of the Adamsville Road Church of God in Elkhart, co-officiating. Interment will follow in Gibbs Hill Cemetery, Ludlow.
Memorial contributions may be made to the East Kane United Methodist Church in care of Jane Harlan, 11 Lucky Lane, Kane, PA 16735.
