John Bernhard
John Kenneth Bernhard, 39, of 22 Oberg Avenue, Mt. Jewett, passed away Saturday (August 24, 2013) at his residence.
Born January 7, 1974, in Kane, he was a son of Ken and Sally Verolini Bernhard.
John, a graduate of Kane Area High School, had been employed by PennDOT for many years. He also had helped with the SSG. Ken VanGiesen Memorial Fallen Soldier Foundation which honors Ken VanGiesen and all fallen American soldiers.
Surviving, in addition to his parents of Corry, are a son, Nikolas Bernhard of Mt. Jewett; a sister, Amy Bernhard of Corry; his maternal grandparents, John and Jeannie Verolini of Kushequa; many aunts, uncles and cousins. He also leaves behind his beloved dogs, Macy, Shooter and Zaina.
Preceding him in death were his paternal grandparents, James and Helen Bernhard.
Friends will be received at the Cummings Funeral Home, Inc. in Mt. Jewett from 2:00 to 4:00 pm and 7:00 to 9:00 pm Tuesday. A funeral service will be held 11:00 am Wednesday at Nebo Chapel in Mt. Jewett with the Rev. Dr. Darrel Justh, pastor, officiating. Burial will be at Nebo Cemetery.
