Kane - William Muff Nicolazzo, 69, of 6002 Rt. 66, passed away peacefully
Thursday (December 29, 2011) at Kane Community Hospital.
Born September 1, 1942, in Kane, he was a son of Carl and Rose Bifano Nicolazzo. On
September 21, 1984, in Kane, he married Linda Alcorn, who was his wife for 27 years and
his sweetheart for 40 years.
A long-time Kane businessman, Mr. Nicolazzo was the proud owner of Papa Nicks Family
Restaurant from 1975 to 2005, where he could be found working daily.
He attended Lincoln Welding School and was a member of the International Brotherhood of
Boilermakers Union. He also belonged to St. Callistus Catholic Church and was a member of
the Moose Lodge #130 in Kane. Additionally, he was a member of the National Guard, Kane
unit.
Muff was full of love and dedicated his life to giving of himself; his
generosity more than exceeded his wealth. For many years, he was a most generous donor to
the Kane Food Pantry, and more than willingly fed anyone who came into his restaurant
hungry that couldnt afford a meal.
Surviving, in addition to his wife Linda Nicolazzo, are his beloved children; a daughter,
Anjanette Nicolazzo of Ellicottville, NY; a son, Frank Nicolazzo of Kane; two sisters,
Anna Jerman of Sarasota, FL and Josy Brothers of Kane and Sarasota, FL; and ten nieces and
nephews.
He was preceded in death, in addition to his parents, by two brothers, Frank Sonny
Nicolazzo and Robert Tuna Nicolazzo; and two sisters, Catherine Kate
Chiono and Julia Ju Bridges.
Friends will be received in the gathering space at St. Callistus from 9:30 a.m. to 11:00
a.m. this Saturday, where a rosary will be recited at 9:00 a.m. prior to the viewing. A
Mass of Christian Burial will follow at 11:00 a.m., with the Rev. Philip Pinczewski,
pastor, as celebrant. Burial will be at St. Callistus Cemetery.
Memorial donations may be made to McKean Co. SPCA or the St. Callistus Memorial Fund.
