Violet “Vee” M. Lamberson, 98, of 100 Freedom Way, Greensburg, and formerly of 100 Hemlock Avenue,Kane, died January 2, 2012, at her residence.

Born September 6, 1913, in Ellicottville, NY, she was a daughter of Frank H. and Kittie Lovelace Kifer. She was married at St. Callistus Catholic Church to George J. Lamberson who preceded her in death in 1997.

Mrs. Lamberson was an active member of St. Callistus Church where she served as a lector. She was a member and past regent of C D of A, Court Callistus #66. Additionally, she was a past district president for CD of A and a member of the Erie Diocesan Committee.

She was a member and past president of the former Philomathean Club and a member and past secretary of the Kane Garden Club. Also, she was on the committee that started the Friends’ Memorial Public Library and served as its secretary for four years and remained as a volunteer for many years. She was a past district chairman for the Girl Scouts and enjoyed playing bridge as a pastime.

Surviving are her daughter Mary Beth (Robert) Klein of Jeannette; a granddaughter Sarah Klein; a grandson, George Klein; and several nieces and nephews.

In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by a daughter, Sally Lamberson; two sisters, Queen Besse and Kathryn Kestler; and three brothers, Elmer, Jack and Frank Kifer.

Friends will be received Saturday from 10-11:00 A.M. in the gathering space at St. Callistus Church where a mass will follow at 11:00 A.M. with the Rev. Philip Pinczewski, pastor, as celebrant. Burial will be at St. Callistus Cemetery.

Memorial donations may be made to St. Callistus Catholic Church, 342 Chase St., Kane, PA 16735 or Friends’ Memorial Public Library, 230 Chase St., Kane, PA 16735.

Arrangements are under the direction of the Cummings Funeral Home, Inc.
