Lois E. Eckstrom KANE Lois E. Eckstrom, 69, of 319 Haines Street, passed away Friday (February 15, 2013) at UPMC Hamot in Erie. Born May 17, 1943, in Port Allegany, she was a daughter of the late James and Mary Peno Dunbar. Mrs. Eckstrom was an elementary school teacher in the Kane Area School District. Most of her teaching years were in Kane but she also taught in Mt. Jewett for a few years. She was a member of the First Baptist Church in Kane. Much of Mrs. Eckstrom's time was spent doing volunteer work, especially at the Lutheran Home at Kane, where she also served on the board. Surviving are a daughter Elizabeth "Libby" Bloomquist and her husband, Jody, of Bristow, VA. Friends will be received at the Cummings Funeral Home, Inc. from 2:00 to 5:00 P.M. Sunday. A funeral service will be held 11:00 A.M. Monday at the First Baptist Church, Hemlock Ave. and Route 321, Kane, with Pastor Bob Lynch officiating. Memorial donations, if desired, may be made to the Kane Area School District libraries, 400 West Hemlock Ave., Kane, PA 16735 Online condolences can be expressed at www.cummingsfh.com.
