Iona Pearl Allen, 89, of 15 Nelson Ave., passed away Monday, January 2nd, 2012 at the
Bradford Regional Medical Center.
Born January 15, 1922, in Luthersburg, she was the daughter of the late John and Mintie
Alice (Reasinger) Wells.
On June 2, 1940 in Rockton she married William R. Allen who died on June 7, 1999.
Mrs. Allen attended Rockton Schools. She enjoyed plastic canvas needle work and
camping, and was a member of the West Branch United Methodist Church, and the Greater
Bradford Senior Center.
She is survived by two daughters, Barbara Ann (Barrie) Sera, and Sharon Kay (Terry)
Mott both of Bradford, two brothers, Jason (Mitzi) Wells of Erie, and Bernard (Shirley)
Wells of Luthersburg, five grandchildren; Brady Sera, Brent Sera, Molly Isaman, Kristy
Barger and Tracy Tanner, 6 step grandchildren, 8 great grandchildren, 3 step great
grandchildren, and 2 step great great grandchildren. In addition to her parents and
husband she was preceded in death by two daughters, one infant and Carol Louise Allen who
died April 22, 2008 and one grandson, Brian Sera.
Family will be receiving friends on Thursday, January 5, 2012, from 3 to 5 & 7 to
9pm in the Hollenbeck-Cahill Funeral Homes, Inc. South Ave., where funeral services will
be held Friday at 10:00am with Rev. Max Miller, pastor of the Bradford Area Parish
officiating. Committal services and burial will be in Beechwood Cemetery, Falls Creek.
