Helen G. Giddings, 101, of 599 Interstate Parkway, passed away, Wednesday, July 28th, 2010 at The Pavilion at BRMC.

Born August 8, 1908, at Marsh Creek, PA, she was the daughter of the late Amasa C. and Mary E. (Smith) Gee.

On November 10, 1939  in Wellsboro she married Richard A. "Dick" Giddings who died on August 14, 1998.

Mrs. Giddings was a 1930 graduate of Wellsboro High School and a graduate of Mansfield Normal School, class of 1932. She taught in a two room schoolhouse in Marsh Creek in 1938 and in 1947 she moved to Bradford. She was the first grade teacher at 6th ward school for many years, retiring in 1970. She along with her husband were very active with the Bradford High School Rifle Club.

She was a member of Church of the Ascension and a member of the Junior Guild.

Surviving are two sons, Richard (Judith McClure) Giddings of Dover, DE and William (Karen) Giddings of Bradford, three grandchildren and one great grandchild.

Family will be receiving friends on Friday, July 30, 2010, from 4:00 to 7:00 pm in the   Hollenbeck-Cahill Funeral Homes, Inc. South Ave.

Graveside services will be held at Wellsboro Cemetery in Wellsboro, at 11:00am on Saturday, July 31st,  with Rev. Dr. Uncle, Alan Macy, retired pastor of the United Church of Christ officiating.

In lieu of flowers, memorials if desired may be made to the Church of the Ascension or   the NRA Wittington Center, U.S. 64, Raton, NM 87740
