Charles H. Bertzfield, Sr. KANE Charles H. Bertzfield, Sr., 72, of 1763 Wetmore Road, Kane, passed away Friday (February 8, 2013) at his residence. Born October 24, 1940, in Landisville, PA, he was a son of the late John and Elva Delinger Bertzfield. On September 8, 1979, in Blue Ridge Summit, PA, he married Carole Burns who survives. Earlier in his life, Mr. Bertzfield had operated personal care homes and had also owned antique shops. He belonged to the Presbyterian Church , the AARP and the American Hunting Club. He enjoyed hunting, remodeling and woodworking and loved spending time with his family. Surviving, in addition to his wife, are one daughter, Leona Hornberger and her fiance Mark Folckemer of Lititz, PA; one son, Charles Bertzfield Jr. and his companion Linda Rettinger of Lancaster, PA; one stepdaughter, Laura Stang of Frederick, MD; one stepson Jeffrey Beaver and his wife Leigh Ann of Buford, GA; five grandchildren; two great grandchildren; two brothers, John (Billie) Bertzfield of Georgia and Dave (Alice) Bertzfield of Lancaster, PA; and several nieces and nephews. A memorial service will be held at a future date. Memorial donations may be made to the Presbyterian Church, 103 Greeves St., Kane, PA 16735 or Kane Community Nurses Hospice, 628 N. Fraley St. # A, Kane, PA. The Cummings Funeral Home, Inc. is in charge of arrangements. Online condolences can be expressed at www.cummingsfh.com.
