Carol E. Zook, 78, of 124 Birch Street, died Wednesday (February 15, 2012) at her residence. Born December 7, 1933, in Kane, she was a daughter of Charles and Mabel Peterson Eliason. On February 14, 1953, in Kane, she married Bruce G. Zook who preceded her in death in 1984. Carol was an employee of the Kane Community Hospital until her retirement in 2002. She was a member of St. John’s Episcopal Church. Surviving are two daughters, Elizabeth Marconi and her husband, John, of Kane and Lea Dissen and her husband Jeffrey of Perry Hall, MD ; five grandchildren, John M. (Jodi) Marconi, Michael A. (Sherry) Marconi, Kristin E. (Mike) Martonik, Andrew J. Dissen and Emily A. Dissen; and seven great grandchildren. Several nieces and nephews also survive. In addition to her husband Bruce, she was preceded in death by a daughter, Patricia A. Zook who died in 2003; a brother, Charles Eliason; and a sister, Jeanne Jolly. Friends may attend a memorial service at 2:00 P.M. next Saturday (February 25, 2012) at St. John’s Episcopal Church with the Rev. David Pflieger, rector, officiating. Memorial donations, if desired may be made to the Kane Community Hospital-Futures Fund, N. Fraley St., Kane, PA 16735 or the McKean County SPCA, Box 113, Bradford, PA 16701. The Cummings Funeral Home, Inc. is in charge of arrangements. Online condolences can be expressed at www.cummingsfh.com.
