My personal take on White Nose Bat Syndrome or WNS-
Most of my friends, know me as "the cave guy", since I have been an avid caver for over 20 years. I have personally located and explored over 156 caves in North Western Pennsylvania, an area that supposedly "has no caves". I have also authored a "guide map" to caves and large rock areas in the Alleghey National Forest area, and, over the years, written many articles on caving in North Western Pa.
Last Saturday was a bit warm and humid, a perfect day
for a "cool" cave trip!
As many know, I'm a long time cave locater and explorer and exploring caves is one of my
favorite pastimes. But with this "WNS" or White Nose Syndrome" killing
bats, cave exploring has been highly curtailed.
Locally the ANF has banned entering caves, and if I'm not mistaken, the state has some
restrictions on entering caves containing bats.
