WHO: University of Pittsburgh at Bradford students and community members opposed to the depth of Gov. Tom Corbett's proposed cuts in funding to state-supported universities.

WHAT: An informational and inspirational rally where students can learn how to take further action. Students will hear from speakers and be able to write letters to their legislators, the governor or newspaper editors; sign-up to attend Pitt in Harrisburg Day, a lobbying event in the capital; and register to vote.

WHERE: Outside the Frame-Westerberg Commons in the Bromeley Quadrangle on the University of Pittsburgh at Bradford campus.

WHEN: Noon to 1 p.m., Thursday, March 31.

WHY:  The governor's proposed budget for 2011-2012 proposes cutting the state appropriation to state-related schools such as the University of Pittsburgh by half.
