BRADFORD, Pa A new series of enrichment programs by the University of Pittsburgh
at Bradford Outreach Services will help women appreciate themselves.
The Womens Appreciation Series will include four courses wine tasting, tai chi,
landscape painting and a womens health keynote speaker.
The womens appreciation series was cultivated out of the idea that, as
women, we nurture and care for our family, friends, co-workers and more, said
Lindsay Foster, business consultant for Outreach Services. Sometimes we need to be
reminded that every once in awhile we need to nurture ourselves, too.
The first event is wine tasting, which will take place from 6 to 7:30 p.m. March 18 at
Flickerwood Winery in Kane. The cost is $3 per person, which includes a take-home wine
glass and entertainment fees. Check out www.flickerwood.com
for more information.
A tai chi class will be offered from 6 to 8 p.m. March 25 in the large group
instruction room at Fretz Middle School, 140 Lorana Ave., Bradford. Cost is $5 per person.
Tai chi is a self-defense martial art that strives to create a balance between the inner
and outer self, and deals with the balance of body movements in coordination with
breathing methods.
Landscape Painting Oil on Canvas Class will be held from 6 to 9 p.m. March 31
and April 1 in the first-floor of the Seneca Building, Bradford. Cost is $69 per person,
which includes paints, brushes and canvas. Instructor Cindy Nowacki has been teaching this
class for more than two years and will accentuate composition through line, shape, color,
value and edgework.
Last will be the Womens Health Keynote Speaker: Enhancing Your Self-Care from
5:30 to 6:30 p.m. April 8 in the large group instruction room at Fretz Middle School.
Wendi Bator, clinical social worker, will teach ways to manage stress, enhance self-care
and awareness. The cost is $10 per participant.
The price to attend all four courses is $75, a savings of $12.
