Pitt-Bradford announces new Advisory Board members PDF Print E-mail

BRADFORD, Pa. - The University of Pittsburgh at Bradford has named five new members to its Advisory Board and reappointed 18 members.

Newly elected to the board are Joseph B. Bower Jr., William W. Chapman '86, John R. Foerstner '79, Christopher L. Luke '94 and Jeannine Schoenecker.

Christopher Napoleon '87-'88, president of the Pitt-Bradford Alumni Association, was appointed an ex officio member of the board, as were Katharine Pude, superintendent of the Bradford Area School District; Anne M. Kearney, superintendent of the St. Marys Area School District; and Matthew D. Splain, superintendent of the Otto-Eldred Area School District.

New member Bower is president and chief executive officer of CNB Bank in Clearfield. He served in the U.S. Army for 13 years before becoming a public accountant. He worked with Mifflinburg Bank and Trust before moving in 1997 to CNB, where he was chief financial officer and chief operating officer before becoming president and CEO.

Chapman is a certified financial planner professional with Ameriprise Financial in Bradford. He holds a Master of Business Administration from the University of Baltimore and is an active volunteer with the Olean-Bradford YMCA, Bradford Public Schools Foundation, Bradford Hospital Foundation, Pitt-Bradford and Bradford Rotary Club.

Foerstner recently retired as director of business development for Snap-Tite Components Inc. in Union City. Prior to working with Snap-Tite, he worked at Dresser Manufacturing while attending Pitt-Bradford as a nontraditional student. He is vice president of the Pitt-Bradford Alumni Association.

Luke is vice president and director of marketing and communications at Fifth Third Bank Institutional Services in Pittsburgh. He has held a variety of senior-level marketing roles with Fifth Third Asset Management, PNC Investments and Fifth Third Bank Institutional Services. In his current role, he is responsible for marketing and communications for retirement plan services, global security services and investment management business.

Schoenecker is president and chief operating officer of American Refining Group Inc. in Bradford. She has been with ARG since 1985, when she began as an assistant controller at the headquarters in West Conshohocken and advanced to the position of chief financial officer in 2008 before becoming president and chief operating officer in 2011. She is a board member of the Bradford Creative and Performing Arts Center and Upper Allegheny Health System and a former board member for Allegheny Valley Federal Credit Union.

Those reappointed to a three-year term were Max Brady, the Hon. John M. Cleland, George B. Duke, Howard L. Fesenmyer, James D. Guelfi, Richard S. Johnson '88-'90, William J. Krieg '64-'66, Sandra Macfarlane '80-'82, John Marasco, J. Michael Mitchell, James E. O'Mara '96, John R. Osborne Jr., Jill M. Owens '93, John H. Satterwhite '65-'67, Robert L. Saunders, Susan H. Silvestri '72-'74, William P. Slivinski and Hilton L. Woodruff.

Additionally, those made honorary members were the Rev. Leo Gallina, R. Dauer Stackpole and Harriett B. Wick.

Gallina, a Bradford native, is the former pastor of St. Bernard Catholic Church and a longtime supporter and benefactor of Pitt-Bradford.
Stackpole is the chairman of the board of the Stackpole Hall Foundation in St. Marys, which has been a long-term supporter of Pitt-Bradford's programming at off-campus sites, especially the Community Education Council of Elk and Cameron Counties.

Wick has a legacy of contributions to Pitt-Bradford that touches nearly every aspect of the campus, from endowed scholarships to the Harriett B. Wick Chapel.
