WEST CHESTER - State Senator Andy Dinniman reminded high school seniors,
other prospective college students and their families that the deadline for the Free
Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) is May 1, 2010.
The FAFSA determines eligibility for federal grants, state grants, many
scholarships, student loans and work-study programs, Dinniman said. If you
plan to start college in the fall and have not applied already, I urge you to do so today.
My staff will be glad to assist you with any questions you may have.
Applications are available at Senator Dinnimans West Chester District Office, but
individuals are encouraged to apply online at www.PHEAA.org/FAFSA or www.fafsa.ed.gov for expedited processing. To complete
the application, applicants will need information found on their 2009 tax returns.
Returning students who have previously submitted a FAFSA will be notified by the
federal government by e-mail or post mail when the 2010-11 Renewal Application is
available.
For more information contact Senator Dinnimans district office at (610) 692-2112,
