Where Am I for April 6th
This might be considered one "where am I" that is "hidden in the
woods".
But it's a real gem to history buffs, and Bradford outdoors people.
Even though it's "out of the way", a lot of people know where this is.
This "where am I" has a built in hint since it IS
a state line marker and there is a Benchmark nearby. The benchmark might be long
forgotten, and no longer on a map.
The south face of this marker says "PENNSLAND" and "1787" among other
things, and names, some readable, some not.
The north facing sides says "New York", along with some other stuff.
OPPOSITE what a nearby (relatively) street sign might say as you approach the state line.
On the street sign, "New York" faces south, and when you approach the sign from
NY, or the north, the sign says "Pennsylvania" (not Pennsland).
Years ago, those hunting for a Christmas Tree may have stumbled on this long forgotten
marker.

For all you "state marker" or "benchmark" buffs ... I do know of
another that is real secret, that might be older, that reads "New York" on one
side and "Pennswoods" on the other. That one is up off the end of Interstate
Parkway.
