Are you f*cking kidding me??

LOL @ some of the comments:

It looks like she's wearing an apron; all she needs are a feather duster, support hose and comfortable shoes and the ensemble would be complete. I don't know why she's considered a fashion icon; she doesn't walk -- she lumbers, she's not very attractive -- in face or shape, and she has horrible taste in clothes. She's a brilliant woman, a decent person, and a great mother, but fashion is NOT her forte. We need to give her credit where it is due, but you can't make a silk purse out of a sow's ear.

Quote:
Awful, The media needs to stop the comparison to Jackie Kennedy. She is not a style icon.

Gotta love that pyramid shape: 32-48-56

Still looks like Patrick Ewing in drag Walks like a lineman for the Steelers But let's keep pretending she's the "new Jackie Kennedy"...RIGHT! Michele....it's o.k. to be ugly....You seem to be a great Mom

would normally not care what Michelle wears when she's at home in the private quarters of the WH but when she's overseas, whether on vacation or on official business, it does matter. She's not a private citizen site seeing, she's still the first lady and as such is representing our country. All she has to do is dress tastefully but can be casual as the situation calls for. What she's wearing looks like a first year Home Ec project. It's hideous and looks ridiculous. She's trying to be such a cutting edge fashionista but has failed on more than one occasion. What she wore to lunch with Nancy Reagan was insulting and cheap and ill fitting for meeting with a former first lady. K.I.S.S.

Quote:
Folks, she's not some tourist on vacation. She's supposed to be the first lady of the United States of America, and instead she looks like a tacky line backer. Someone get her out of Old Navy and into a designer not located in da 'hood. She is too big in the hips for horizontal dayglo stripes (so is everyone else). If she wants to dress like she's going to the beach in Coney Island, then she needs to do it when no one is looking-not when she is traveling for our country. Get a grip-she is US-and she is a fashion disaster. The only thing missing is a price tag hanging off her beach hat. You're right about this much, Jackie Kennedy she ain't!

Quote:
I don't care what nobody says...but this chick is tacky. I look and dress better than this on any given day! Somebody needs to help her get her fashion thing together. It's ok to wear Gap, J. Crew and other store brand off-the-rack clothing because if you accessorize correctly, you could look like you are wearing expensive designer clothing. She's just gawky, unstylish and tacky...I'm sorry, but that's my opinion and NO I'm not hating.

She looks like an Easter Egg

For a minute I thought that was Queen Latifa, but then I remember QL is much more stylish.
Maybe Michelle should stop shopping at Wet Seal! LOL! And take some walking lessons. She does tend to "lumber".

But according to the liberal-run media, she is beautiful, graceful, and today's version of Jackie Kennedy.
It's only ever in the media that I see far-fetched descriptions like those. I've never heard any real-life human beings (even liberal ones) call her a beauty or a fashion icon. It just further reinforces (to me) who is *really* in charge of the media.

I've noticed over the years that if anyone in politics or royalty is even mediocre in looks, they are touted as beautiful. Kind of like doctors also. Someone recently asked me if this one particular doctor in town was really good looking, and my reply was "you don't have to be good looking to be a good looking doctor." Same with First Ladies.

Oh, good point. The same applies to female athletes. Like Daneka Patrick is considered to be smoking hot.....but by female athlete standards.
It's been a long time since we've had an attractive First Lady in actuality.
The lowering of beauty standards would be welcome and healthy for, say, the self-image of little girls if it was all-inclusive, but it seems to only apply to Mrs. Obama. If Michelle Obama's face rather than Megan Fox's or Jessica Alba's face was suddenly considered the height of beauty....just think of all the time in the bathroom spent on hair and makeup that could be cut down. 8) Women would become craaaaaazy complacent.

Maybe its something one of her girls made for her, and she was nice enough to wear it regardless. If my daughter made me something, I'd wear it just to show how proud of her I am.

My daughter made me two pancakes for breakfast. Maybe I should wear them as a bikini top!

I doubt her daughters made that top. It's probably from some "cutting edge" designer. Ever hear the story of the emperor's new clothes? LOL!

Even though the flower cut-outs on the skirt.....thing....are cheap enough to look like construction paper, it's probably as Shadow said, an absurdly expensive "cutting edge" design (remember her $500 tennis shoes? LOL!). It's touching for moms to wear their kids' creations but most moms aren't visiting heads of state and representing the USA....

No self-respecting grade schooler would make something that tacky. I agree - it's probably designer. If you've ever watched a runway show, it's amazing how ugly some of the clothes are! maybe she should go on "TLC's "What Not to Wear" That show cracks me up! I can just imagine Quenton and Stacey going through my clothes - "What on EARTH is this?" Stacey would shriek, as she held up yet another stained, pilly hoodie from Walmart. :D
