You have to hand it to Steve, he doesnt wait for someone else to make a move when he sees the need. from todays Era, Steve has restructured and renamed the special police, and it looks like he is even paying them out of his own pocket! What a community minded guy. Congratulations and good luck. Maybe they could even patrol the business district.

It seems like a common sense solution! Who'd a thought something like that could happen in Bradford?
....... Now back to Main Street ..... How about somebody (perhaps into Martial Arts) start a chapter of the "Guardian Angles" in lieu of a neighborhood watch to clean up Main Street?

Well I commend Mr Cavalaro's effort. I do agree with the part about not calling them police and not associating them with police dept. I do agree with the part about having them certified for duties such as traffic management. And I do appreciate these folks are willing to serve. I still question the perceived need that so many seem to think exists. I guess I am just the type that doesn't need someone to tell me what to do at every turn. Or volunteer to tell me what to do. Stop on red, go on green usually gets me through most crisis. Thanks for your help. Please excuse me if I don't need or want it.

They don't direct traffic at working traffic lights. They work at accident or fire scenes where a road needs closed down, when power goes out they direct traffic at intersections that don't have a working traffic light (and they stand out there in the middle of the storm to do it), They close streets down for parades, direct traffic at the schools to ensure child safety, etc. Don't see why there is an issue, especially since it's being paid for by a person and not by tax money.

If Steve can make the special police work in Bradford, when the city said it couldn't be done, maybe he should be talking to our state reps to fix this once and for all. Of course he'd have to move into the city to run for city office (correct?)

Steve should consider running for Bradford Township Supervisor. He has demonstrated that he has the best interest for the township and the Tuna Valley.

I think that Steve has done a great job with the duck pond and the special police. He deserves a big thank you from everybody. My only problem is with the new name of the special police. "CSI." I don't think much thought was given when chosing the new name. Long before Steve gave this name to the organization, I could go into a local clothing chain store and buy T-shirts with the letters CSI in bold letters and just below that the words "Can't Stand Idiots" Sorry, Steve, But thats all I can think about when I hear CSI anymore.

Well, Gunny, I personally think that the bigger confusion might be outsiders or visitors coming to our area and seeing the CSI team and think it stands for Crime Scene Investigator, and that there was a serious crime that is being investigated wherever they are deployed.
BTW they did a great job once again, directing traffic at the children's home on East Main during Christmas.
I was kinda hoping Steve C would run for Bradford Mayor.
