James City a small community on a hill just south of Kane Pa off rt 66 will be getting a Marcellus Waste water injection well to dispose of Marcellus Shale waste water.
What a great idea! They finally found a great, safe place to put some very nasty "brine water". What better location can you get?
James City, in case you don't know, has several residents who work in the various aspects of oil and gas production. And whatever residents don't work directly for drillers, work in the logging industry!
Nearly everybody in James City works in the resource extraction industry! I'm sure none of them will object to an underground waste water injection well in or near their town!
James City uses a community well for their water supply. The planned injection well will literally be hundreds of feet away from their water, so they will have no problems with the two wells "communicating".
There will be several hundred feet between where the brine goes in and their water comes out. Some 1300 or more feet.
Most of the citizens who work for the drillers know they can trust the waste dumpers to not pollute their water, land and air! Their water will be safe and their town will remain as pristine as it has been for years.
James City will be just another success story of "drilling done right"!
I did however think the residents would have held some kind of peaceful protest ... a "bring that brine here" protest, in support of the proposed injection well!
