Sounds like the drunk should have been more responsible with his drinking and he wouldn't have been confused as to which house was his. You can just as easily remove booze from that story with an even better outcome than if you removed the firearm.

Not sure that all schools in CT are required to have a security officer but if he/she is anything like any other LEO he/she was on the way. The only way to stop these types of shootings is to ahve an armed citizenry. ONLY reaction at the time of the event will stop or curtail deaths. Requiring people to wait for police is endangering the lives of everyone.

Not all armed citizens are peaceful or helpful. They don't always all follow the rules.

This is what happens! This is what happens sometimes when you have a citizen with a gun.

So the logical answer is to put more guns in the hands of someone like this?

Actually, it was his mother who was the armed citizenry. She was an avid target shooter and owned the guns that he used. She was also his first target, shot in her bed. She bears the blame of not having the guns locked well enough so that he could not obtain them.

I really think Stony would like it if we had more rules and regulations, more cumbersom red tape, more agencies and commissions to apply these rules and regulations. The president says he'll do everything in his power to prevent future mass shootings. 'We must change' Stony says the Dems wont take our guns, the Republicans will. I say the government will take our guns. The parties some of us are clinging to died a long time ago. You dont think the timing of this is a coincidence? Legislation has most likely been drawn up for this already, and has just been waiting for the right crisis to enact it.

I have a neighbor, a very sick individual, one who can't even function normally in society, who recently got a carry permit and a handgun! THAT will not end nicely! Did I mention he is highly medicated?

Mind altering, psychotropic drugs and guns do not mix. They are the perfect combination for disaster.
