Very revealing! Its nice to know this option exists. On the eve of Bradford City passing a budget full of Christmas gifts for themselves at the expense of taxpayers, (present and future) I think its time to examine the advantages (to taxpayers, not the city) of trying to cling to our outdated third class city status. Is this status keeping us taxpayers imprisoned as a 'Host mechanism' for a voracious city hall and its pet departments to continue to feed off of? Even as a city resident, I dont blame those in the townships for wanting to remain out of reach of the would be pickpockets from city hall. Move to the outlying areas to escape blight, crime and high taxes, and Bradford brings them to you... At least Foster township has avoided that Christmas gift for now. It seems that a gradual or partial consolidation attempt has begun, and if allowed to continue will bring a lot of far reaching financial pain. BTW, speaking of the tail wagging the dog, it looks like Warrens economic development people spend pennies on the dollar compared to ours. This wouldnt be noteworthy if it werent for Warren looking pretty spiffy compared to Bradford for those same pennies. I wonder what Warrens tax millage rate is, anyone know? Do they levy a 'Gross Business Privelege' Tax? If so do they make their wealthy businesses pay it, or just the small business suckers like Bradford? Inquiring minds want to know?

Nothing really about Bradford I have to post, but just an interesting tid-bit. At the end of the document from Warren PA, the City Mananger of Warren was actually the City Manager of Clarion, PA. The council there did not renew her contract, but they did not have anyone to take place. So that meant, no payroll, no bills could be paid, basically you had to shut down Clarion. Also in that meeting, 2 council members and the Mayor quit in the same meeting. It is interesting to watch. Thought that would interest some of the BT crowd. There is also some follow up videos that you can also see on YouTube
Musicman, I hope you arent suggesting that the 'City Manager' of Bradford resign...?
No not at all, just sharing what I found interesting in local government and you know if the mayor and 2 council members quit it is big news in that town or city.
