I wholeheartedly concur. Christians are free to do what they OUGHT to do. They need to weigh their words and actions in light of their witness. That does NOT mean we can't speak truth directly and forcefully. Some Christians are more worried about being perceived as 'nice' than being perceived as right. They suffer from fear of man.....not a desirable quality in a Christian. Jesus was not interested in winning a popularity contest. His work was too important to mince words and worry about hurt feelings of those who scorned him.
As far as outward appearances, if the inner man is right, the outside doesn't matter much. If the inner man is corrupt, well, let's just say there's not enough lipstick for some pigs......

What if the "inner man" spends all the family money (way too often welfare money) on tattoos for the "outer man"? Instead of food, proper shelter, proper transportation, and clothes for his children?

This scenario has been played out hundreds of times over or more in Bradford! Just one walk downtown on a hot summer day will confirm this.

WWJD, would Jesus approve of welfare tattoos?
