JeffT, I appreciate your efforts to keep the debate civil by arguing facts instead of just slinging personal insults.

In this case you were wrong about a few of your statements. One, the guy was not shooting into the air. And two, he was not a local, but rather a black Buffalo transient. And the paper never mentioned where he worked .... Zippo? Case? Dresser? Beacon Light? I'd be great to know, because now that he in on the lamb, there may be a job opening somewhere in Bradford!

Just wanted to clear something up, I never said the guy that perpetrated the crime wasn't from around here, I stated that the guy that lived at the high rise was a resident, which by definition of residence is accurate. He lives at the high rise making him a bradford resident. That's beside the point anyhow, I simply want people to realize that there is an issue in Bradford and with the residents of Bradford and that it's not all an external problem. If the issue of scumbags that live in the city is solved, the issue of the drug dealers that come from outside of bradford gets solved as well because they lose the client base.

I'm still wondering why if he wasn't firing into the air that they did not find any more bullet holes. There isn't much open grassy space around there for a bullet to disappear into.

I'm not sure if your first sentence is genuine or sarcastic because it's really hard to tell the tone intended when in type rather than spoken word. If it was sincere, thank you. I have decided to make some changes in my life to reduce stress and I'm trying to learn to handle things more calmly so that I can get my point across more clearly.

Finding bullets is hard. It is not as easy at you would think. 100 feet is a long distance for a target. There is a lot more space than target. It is not like TV where giant holes are blown out everywhere a bullet strikes.

All the buildings in close proximity, and assuming that he was shooting at someone less than 7 feet tall, I think it would be safe to say that if you look at the surrounding buildings and stay below 15 feet to keep from wasting time that it would be fairly easy to find more holes. With the "victim" in custody, he ought to be able to thin out the possibilities of bullet hole locations by showing where he was when the first shot was fired, where the shooter was, and which way he ran (probably sh**ing himself) away from the shooter.

I'm just a private citizen though, not a trained and seasoned forensics detective.

Hey, the sceen is open to public. That might be a fun thing for you to try to do.

Having some experience at trying to find my own shots, knowing exactly where I was standing and exactly where I was aiming, I have found my success rate is not perfect in finding where I hit.

If you don't know where your shot hit you should not be pulling a trigger.

I am sensing some lack of hands on experience. I am certain if anyone could locate additional bullet holes at that scene, the police would appreciate having that presented to them.

Thousands of rounds have been discharged each year for many, many years into our forests and have not met their target. It should be quite easy to go find some. It would be a fun exercise to challenge ones skills at bullet recovery.

If the gun was held sideways, which is most likely in this case, maybe the bullets went sideways?

Are you referring to Zen, or the really, really piss-poor shooter who missed his target seven times?

First of all the Buffalo thug (is that permissible?), had no business at all pulling a trigger!

Flash, if you ever did any kind of sport shooting or "plinkin'" you would know that as Zen says, sometimes even when you know what your target is, it's hard to find all your holes all the time.

I believe that more of those bullets can be found in more of the surrounding buildings or houses. But a bullet hole can sometimes be very small ... a "45" is .450 inches or under a half inch. When you stand in front of a house or building, a .450" hole may be near impossible to see. Every single one of those bullets ended up somewhere. They don't just disappear. We are very lucky none of them killed a person or a child or pet.

We can only hope that when he is caught, he gets some serious jail time and he don't get less than a slap on the wrist by one of our liberal judges!

Perhaps the crime classes at Pitt can come out and find the six missing bullets.

Flash, when one of "these guys" breaks into my home uninvited, I can tell you where all 32 of my rounds will be found ....... between his eyes! 32 being the capacity of one of my banana clips!

Now there you go Zen .... making fun of the way "some non-whites" shoot guns!

LOL! The "gansta" stance .... Hold the gun off to the side, with your elbow elevated above the wrist (for some odd reason, while holding the gun at a twisted, crooked sideways kind of angle. That is how gang bangers "pop a cap off in your ass".

It's prolly a good thing "they" learned to shoot like that (movies no doubt). It keeps their intended targets safe! I'll bet that Pittsburgh guy was happy Mr. Black was not a good shot! He lucked out seven times over!

If somebody were shooting at me, I'd want them using that technique!

Far be it for me to criticize the way anybody chooses to hold, point, and/or shoot a gun.

What do I know?

Why is it African Americans are so underrepresented at the local shooting ranges? No wonder they lack proper gun training.

Referring to the idiot that missed, not Zen.

I've done extensive target & hunting shooting. I've always made sure of my surroundings when doing either. Correct, I have not always been able to find every hole but I am 100% positive that the round fired did not go into an inhabited or even possibly inhabited place.

Great point stony, blacks are under-represented at the gun ranges in America. I call for a new program that gives blacks guns and free passes to the local range of their choice. That way, when their drug deal goes bad, they can at least kill the other guy.
