Thats what they called the prayer service held in front of the Church of the Ascension where this shooting occured early saturday morning. This shooting is being portrayed as an argument that escalated between a Buffalo man and a Pittsburgh man, no mention of drugs. No doubt they were arguing about which football team is better or something similar. One just happened to unload a .45 at the other one at 4;45 am on a residential street. One bullet allegedly penetrated an occupied house, and was only stopped by an electrical box. It really is a shame that we have let our once beautiful little town deteriorate to this. Everyone knows that there is illicit drug activity from Buffalo and Pittsburg here in Bradford, whether the powers that be will admit it. So the million dollar question is, if the big drug bust on Congress street a year or two back netted 8 or so suntanned "Entrepeneurs" from Buffalo, the episode at the Holley with the black guy from Buffalo (I forget, was he stabbed?) who just happened to have 5000.00 cash on him, and most recently this disagreement between these gentlemen, why arent we doing more to keep these felons out of Bradford? What ever happened to our "Street Crimes Unit" with its semi auto weapons and SWAT van? This past winter i chased a black guy with N.Y. plates out of my driveway, who was waiting for a "runner" from a known drug house. He had several very young looking girls (who were drinking) in his Cadillac, no doubt some local familys daughters, Upon investigation the guy had a sizeable rap sheet for drug activity, so dont tell me this isnt happening in Bradford. Rumor has it that the highly publicized traffic stop on Jackson avenue with its accompanied lawsuit, allegedly involved a known drug dealer and a couple dark skinned "tourists" from out of town. Mr Riel recently said our streets were safe and he wouldnt feel threatened walking through any Bradford neighborhood at night, maybe he wears a bulletproof vest..?

what are the state police doing in bradford? i thought the mayor had them thrown out of here and prevented from enforcing the law in bradford? why are there drug dealers living in the high rise? each and every one of the seven stray bullets could have killed an innocent bystander or children asleep in their own beds. when will the mayor and the city police crack down on out of town drug dealers? how many must die first?

Whatever the hell is going on, they need to clean up the town.

When I called the other day, after 30 minutes, no one came and the on going incident I described play by play ended and they rode off." Zen, this exact thing happened to me the last two times i called Smethport. One of the incidents i described here on BT several weeks ago when 3 teenagers who were visibly impaired had just come out of the upstairs apartment next door to me, (well after curfew) and were quite loudly discussing how much money they could make on the street when the divided up and sold their take. I was hoping it was an isolated incident, or a communication snafu between Smethport and the Bradford police. Maybe not? Anyone else have this happen? For the record, even though i supported the mayor at the time of the dispatch change, i was very against moving it out of the Bradford station. (as were the majority of taxpayers)

Agreed! We are probably a little past the point of praying for an answer!

In my opinion the state police are in Bradford because they see the demand for drugs here is incredably higher than in in most areas of Pennsylvania. One shooting suspect is from Pittsburgh and the other is from Buffalo mysteries of the world. Days are numbered for all local dealers. Concealied carry permits are cheap here, guess who has a weapon and who does not. The name and photo in the ERA definitely would help find this guy

Well C5, his name and photo are in todays Era. Its a good thing we didnt profile this guy... He is just a poor young black man from Buffalo who lost his way and just happens to have 5 or 6 aliases, a couple of the better ones being (really) "Infamous Black" "Dollar$$" and "Big Homey from Cali" He is probably was just in Bradford to enjoy the Autumn leaves.

So if one is from Buffalo and the other from Pittsburgh, who has the apartment in the High Rise in Bradford?

Perhaps a love interest he came down to Bradford to court?

I see what you did there, touche sir. I will counter by saying that profiling doesn't always work. That guy that was beat with a hammer at the Riddell, a lot of us speculated black guy and it was a white teenager. Not every black person is a drug dealing reliefer, not every muslim is a terrorist, and not every red head is void of a soul

I do admit that you were right though.

My original reason for checking this post is that I wanted to say this:

God helps those who help themselves. We can pray for peace all that we want, but we aren't just given peace. We are given opportunities to make peace happen. Every citizen needs to start keeping an eye out and making complaints to the police. They have to answer all complaints. To use a worn out motto, if you see something say something. It is our responsibility to either do what our government can't or won't do or force them to start doing it. We need to have the pride in our community to take it back from the drug dealers and addicts.
