From the Corry Journal:

Protestors hold 2nd rally against injection wells

COLUMBUS — A second protest in less than a month took place Thursday afternoon near a proposed wastewater injection site in Columbus Township.

About 50 area residents gathered to show their opposition to a project that they say will “kill” their community.

“We want people to start being honest with us,” said Bear Lake resident Gloria Snow, a member of the Bear Lake Fire Department and Fire Police who is credited with co-organizing the protest. “They don’t care about our feelings here or the fact that this stuff will destroy our community. They just see money.”

The demonstration — which took place just off Cornish Hill Road on State Line Road — lasted about an hour and was held in an effort to let others know their concerns about waste from the oil and gas industry (specifically frack fluid) being dumped into two Medina gas wells.

“This stuff is causing new kinds of cancers that doctors haven’t even seen,” said Sarah Novak, who owns homes in Medina, Ohio, and Mayville, N.Y., and has been actively working to stop the process of fracking and therefore put an end to a need for frack fluid disposal. “It takes millions of gallons of water to frack one well. We are wasting a natural resource just to get another natural resource. It doesn’t make any sense.”

Journal photo by Erin Passinger - Bear Lake resident Gloria Snow rallies a crowd of protesters Thursday afternoon who gathered at the site of a proposed wastewater injection project, located off Cornish Hill Road, west of Bear Lake. If approved, the operation would dump 60,000 barrels of frack waste every month into two dead Medina gas wells for five years.

Interesting article and good photos, Stony! Good luck with the protest but I suppose it's a lost cause there as the local government has already decided.
I am interested in your guitar. (Of course!) Did you build it? Due to the size of the lower and upper bouts it must have tremendous bass! PM me some details, would you please?

Yes, Guitar that is a custom guitar that I built. And you are right, it's has a killer bass response. It's basically braced like a Martin D-28, but it's wider, longer, and deeper than a Martin, and the waist is wider or with less indent. All favor bass response and volume. It's the perfect guitar for outdoor protests! Plus it's a softer Mahogany with highly scalloped braces so it will break easy if an oil goon busts it over my head! LOL! Not to brag, but most serious guitarists who hear it say it's the best sounding acoustic guitar they have ever heard/played. I built it to sell, but after it was done and I heard the volume and bass, I decided I had to keep it.

I do have a cheaper guitar I bought to take to protests where I may feel my safety or the safety of my instrument may be in question, but it sounds so crappy, I'd rather have somebody smash my good guitar over my head, rather than sound like crap at a protest playing a cheap guitar! (The chicks all dig a cool sounding guitar! LOL!)

The sign outside the Bear Lake Fire hall. The people at the fire department are on the side of
protecting the health of the citizens and the health of the environment. Wish all fire departments
were this proactive at protecting citizens! (EXPLODING HOUSES IN BRADFORD?!!)

The Injection Wells are literally on the NY/Pa state line

We are in NY State on this side of the road ....

.... and in Pennsylvania on this side of the road!

So here, I'm in NY and Pa at the same time! Who else can play in two different states simultaneously?

We moved out of the way to let this logger go by. Loggers are relatively eco-friendly compared to frackers!
