I can't believe as Mayor of a small city that you, Tom Riel, just said this. If there are cities or towns out there that seriously need the money more than Bradford does to fix the "Bridge to Nowhere" then those other places should have it. I just can't believe how ignorant you sound with responses like this.

Very good point Wolf ..... Other cities may have needed that same said money for something a little more important.

Screw the other towns, Bradford needs all the help it can get.

Sure its like putting lipstick on a pig, but at least our pig looks better than Shelbyville's.

I think rebuilding the bridge is a stupid waste of money. When it was a footbridge, I used it often, but once it was gone, it wasn't didn't create any hardship for anyone. As Stoney wrote, there are two other bridges with walkways. Yes, it is very pretty (the steps to it are a bit overkill, IMO.) However, I am a bit scared of the safety issues. The clientele around Bradford these days isn't the smartest. I just hope some kid being pushed over that bridge in a stroller doesn't end up in the drink while Mama is busy texting.

And we all know what happened to the Mayans! Especially the ones who got painted blue, ala Apacalypto.

Shouldn't it have a ramp that's scooter and stroller compatible instead of stairs?

Cornfunkel, good point! In another year, the city can apply for another grant to rip out the big cement steps and put in a handicap ramp! :D

I was thinking scummer-friendly but I suppose the handicapped should be considered as well.
