Rumor has it that benevolent doctor from out of the area has purchased a couple of the grand victorians on Congress st. between Potter Street and Thompson ave.(Goblin Alley) and is fixing them up beautifully. One that was already divided into apartments is slated to be high end rentals. It looks very nice up there even mid paving job. When the street is redone maybe this could turn the tide a little bit in the embattled second ward. As a bonus maybe he will scare some of the spooks and Goblins away in the process, we can always hope...

Rumor has it that the Goblins are already expanding into other portions of the city. The current rumor is that they just purchased this grand house on Williams Street
Now I just wonder exactly where they found $150k to buy this beauty. There goes another neighborhood. They are as bad a roaches except they don't scatter when the light is turned on. Maybe some red and blue lights will do the trick.

I wouldnt wish the Goblins and/or spooks into anyone elses neighborhood, especially one of the last fairly nice neighborhoods like Williams street, but i have to chuckle to myself just a little. I recall a recent conversation with one of the longtime residents of that street, who may have been in denial just a little bit when i assured him that what had happened to the second ward would soon be coming to his quiet little street. I think his exact words were "never" or "it aint gonna happen" or some such terminology. Its a good thing he didnt say something like "over my dead body"... P.S. Unionguy, they (Goblins) were up there looking a few weeks ago, but another rumor had the deal falling through, i guess time will tell...

Well I think it is official, Bradford's Ghetto has expanded. I feel it goes from Jackson Ave down Mill to Williams Street including School Street to Interstate Parkway and West Washington to Bushnell and West Corydon Street. It is all turning to Ghetto Bradford and the good residents in these areas are suffering for it. I think all the good people in this neighborhood needs to get together and at least form a Neighborhood watch and enforce it. C'mon people fight back and get your neighborhoods back. BTW, I believe the Mayor lives that area too. Well Mr. Riel get off your ass and get these neighborhoods cleaned up!!!!

The mayor knows the score on the citys housing stock. He was never happy with the citys CE department, and has made no secret of that. We have had improvements with this department, and they are working hard with the resources they have. I think much more needs done overall for the working taxpayers of Bradford, who have to tolerate living with wellies and/or criminals next door and all the fun that goes with that. By letting this go on, City hall sends the same message to residents that they did the merchants downtown, "the problems are all in your imagination, deal with it." It seems like everyday i run into someone else who has a horror story about a crumbum neighbor. If City hall would crack down on the slumlords, wellies, criminals and private owner slobs, they might just turn the tide...

BTW, i understand there was some miscommunication through the grapevine... The guy i had that conversation with on Williams street lives in a lite blue house, not a gray one.

The scumbunnies hopping into a neighborhood near you is nothing new. When we moved here in 1973, the first thing we noticed was that almost every street had some beautiful old homes, and right next door were dumps. Some so bad, they were torn down by 1976. The second thing we noticed, was our next door neighbors were scumbunnies. The dad didn't work b/c he had a "bad back", but managed to paint the whole outside of the house they were renting. The had about 7 kids, but he was maybe the father of the last few. He used to bum cigarettes from my dad. He was a bum. Years later was arrested for molesting his mentally retarded daughter. Yep, moving to Bradford was a real eye opener. Never even heard of welfare til then. So really, not much has changed except the housing.
