Oh, you mean that bill H.R. 3 that passed the house with 16 Democratic votes and had 7 Democratic n/a votes and 1 Democrat that decided that it wasn't important enough to vote on? It had 10 Democratic co-sponsors?

Isn't this bill titled "Prohibiting Taxpayer Funding of Abortion"?

Didn't they make exceptions (the Hyde Amendment) for taxpayers to actually pay for abortions in the event of rape, incest, and medical necessity?

Am I wrong, or did this not change any definitions but only change who and who did not have to pay for their own abortions if they weren't raped?

Isn't most of the commentary in this video based on comments that Akin made and the Democratic party is trying to lump all of this together and lay it on Ryan and Romney like they support rape?

Kinda sad really that they would stoop this low, twist things this much, and that anyone would believe it.

Think I'm wrong on any of this? Research it rather than believing campaign ads. It wasn't too hard to find the actual text of the bill and the voting record.

Here's the actual bill that went to the Senate, and it specifically says "nothing in this chapter shall be construed as prohibiting any individual, entity, or State or locality from purchasing separate abortion coverage or health benefits coverage that includes abortion so long as such coverage is paid for entirely using only funds not authorized or appropriated by Federal law and such coverage shall not be purchased using matching funds required for a federally subsidized program, including a State’s or locality’s contribution of Medicaid matching funds. "

Well, getting back to how sick the republicans are.

Just the fact that a member of their party uttered the words "legitimate rape", and the others didn't kick his ass, shows what a despicable bunch they are!

BUT they already had lost the woman vote, and that might guarantee Obama's second term.

Gary- two "good things" Obama has done .... the best two .... One, he saved the US and the world from the Bush/Cheney depression, and two he killed Bin Laden as he said he would.

He did neither. We're still in the same recession we were in, it has been lengthened and worsened by the policies of the government over the last 8 years, Bush and Obama.
He didn't kill Bin Laden, he approved a mission that other people arranged. He only approved after consulting his advisers.

I'm really sick of all these mis quotes and half truths from both sides. Obama did not kill Bin Ladin. He just happened to be the commander and cheif when it all went down. Even one of the Navy Seals said Obama was probably going to take the credit.
As for Legitimate rape, yes, a very stupid thing to say. But I think that guy was defending the rights of the unborn when he pulled up the "rape card" asking how many abortions are the result of rape, instead of some other reason. Millions of abortions every year. That's a whole lot of "rapes" going on.
Hell, an undercover at Family Planning showed an employee telling a "pregnant" mother that if she didn't want her 4th baby to be yet another girl, she could abort it and try for a boy next time! Guess she could say she was raped.

Yes, there are cases of legitimate misquotes and half truths but what I understand from sound systems, good microphones have a way of shutting those things down. As an example, the following does not *in my opinion* fall in the category of legitimate misquote or half truth. ....>>> "It seems to me, from what I understand from doctors, that’s really rare.
