Bradford city does not health inspect tattoo parlors even though we have a board of health, and the state mandates this (maybe even by law for a third class city?),

Many individual counties require you to have a Blood Borne Pathogens and C.P.R. certificate and monthly inspection of your tattoo studio. Some Pennsylvania Cities have their own laws. Philadelphia, for example, you not only have to take health classes, and blood borne pathogen training but you must also be under professionals supervision for the state allotted time frame so that you can safely learn important procedures such as how to run the sterilizer, how to run the ultra-sonic, what to do in an emergency situation, how to properly maintain your equipment, aftercare procedures etc.
I Googled and couldn't find a state mandate for inspections, citizen. Does Bradford have it's own regulations, as do Philly and State College?
Pennsylvania has no regulations for tattoo shops, I managed one in Pittsburgh for 2 years. It's up to the consumer and owners to make sure that the shop is clean, well maintained, and a sterile needle is used every single time.

Citizen!--thank you for your feedback!----i see the Police x20 each day up and down Main St.---you would think they could put the windown on their car and tell the people to Move on ----they don't even have to get out of the car -----but they need to post signs in all areas----No Loitering !!!!----the police know who is who!!!!!. If they are persistent with this -it will work.------No added coast--they are already making their rounds

Hey, citizen, I'm all for banishing tattoo parlors, but let's not get carried away here!
Maybe we should designate a loitering spot for people downtown, complete with a sign that says "Loiter here!" Then again, do many of these people even know what loiter means?

I would say that this is a "no brainer" and something the entire community should get behind, including those with clout who run the OECD. (if we have any civic pride left in this town) Lets show the the main street merchants that we really do support them, instead of just giving it lip service. And i would say that any main street merchant that doesnt actively support this idea has no right to complain when their storefront becomes the new welfare hangout and/or get vandalized. (be careful trailguy, "community policing" sounds a lot like "neighborhood watch"...)

IMO every Merchant on Main street, and in the entire business district should be petitioning the mayor, police chief and city council for a man on the beat, but it is also my opinion that this should already be standard operating procedure. A cruiser or backup would never be far away with the station right there. I know that an OECD grant bought a pair of Segways, and i dont think it was that far back that the police department had a couple of mountain bikes for this. I also remember when Bradford was much more proactive on loiterers, and this was before we had a problem like we do now, what happened? It seems to me that this would be a win win situation for everyone, and i dont even see much in the way of additional costs, heck, it should save money if anything, give the guys some excercise and fresh air, some facetime with citizens and merchants, and give the police department (and city hall) some good P.R. A golden opportunity for city leaders to show the downtown merchants that they really are behind them. I hate to point out that city leaders dont have any problem sending a guy out on foot all over the business district to write parking tickets... http://www.newhavenindependent.org/inde ... ansferred/

"The news represented a dramatic policy turnaround for a mayor who presided over the gradual elimination of walking beats and dissolution of community policing during his tenure. Meanwhile the number of annual murders rose from eight to 34 in the last five years."
