What is going on under the highway at Elm street? It looks like futures designed it.(nothing against the futures people) Someone said that the new OECD Pine street bridge design doesnt fit in with the historic downtown character either, some kind of Oriental design or something.

That whole area is confused looking. The faux stone wall/planter running the length of the entrance ramp that contains nothing but weeds, piles of stones that are usually used to stabilize creek banks, and now this bizzaro 'ponderosa meets the flintstones' treatment under the highway that blocks your line of site pulling out of the exit ramp. It all seems very poorly thought out. The contractors never cleaned up around the Bradford sign either, there are hundreds of rusty nails laying on the ground, and random piles of sand and hardened concrete. The highway fence is still rolled up and disassembled too.

Intentionally putting ANYTHING in the "line of sight" in a busy, dangerous intersection is just BEYOND (a line from Pitt) STUPID!

But the medium, real wood logs, is a great medium for the scummers to carve up with vulgar words or their gang affiliation!

The lazy ones will tag the logs with spray paint, while the "more dedicated" will carve their names, and vulgar words with their knives.
And how long do you suppose it will be before somebody gets the bright idea to set the logs on fire?

"BEYOND" is a very good slogan for Bradford ..... "decorative logs sticking up out of the ground .... BEYOND stupid"!

All of the wasted money on this project and the one planned for the Davis St exit is the city's idea of making Bfd beautiful for the unfortunate outsiders exiting 219 into Bfd. You've heard this before, but it's like putting lipstick on a "Pig" and when you are done, you still just have a Pig.

How could we have let Forman street or the Forman street railroad crossing deteriorate to the point that it is? It has been in terrible condition for years and years, I would guess conservatively 6-7 years? Its the first thing people see coming into town from the North, and the last thing they see leaving in the same direction. Not only do we see our vehicles prematurely rust from the salt, the underpinnings take a major amount of abuse on what passes for roads. Is it concievable that they could dress up this area and we still have the horrible road and rail crossing?

Are the crossing themselves the responsibility of the City, or of the railroad?

Doesn't matter! It's a reflection on Bradford AND a danger to it's citizens!

It's up to everybody in charge of public safety to see to it it gets fixed, no matter who has to actually do the physical work! Even if our mayor has to rag on the DOT or the RR until it's done!

Ignoring it or passing the buck obviously hasn't worked for the past several years!

Now it's time to fix it!

Doesnt matter a bit who is responsible between the city, state and railroad. Other Rail crossings get fixed, as do roads (In the townships and other towns) The point is is was overdue years ago. someone dropped the ball.

Back to Elm street, I dont know if they are trying to capture the fact that we cut some timber in this area with these logs? but they are Cedar logs, not even native to this area. And it just keeps getting more bizzare, up on the bank at the bottom of the exit ramp are a cluster of these logs sunken into the ground at various lengths!? Why not just plant some live trees...? That couldnt cost much at all, there were some evergreens in that area before the highway revitalization, they looked nice, and even provided some shade and cover for the birds. Well, come to think of it, this project is also "for the birds'.

OMG! No sooner did they get these new dead trees planted when someone came along and cut them down!

Leaving behind just the dead, bark-less, ugly stumps!

We need some photos of this "Flintstone-esque", *out of place* street-scape!

It we act quick enough we can capture it before the graffiti and carvings show up! ....... We can see what it "looked like" before the drug gangs tag it, or claim it as a territory marker!
