I gotta ask this question ..... are government drones spying on us?

While hiking today and enjoying a bright sunny day with clear blue skies, a friend spotted what he believed was a "drone aircraft" above us.

It had a short, blunt-nosed shape with no real noticeable side wings.

It certainly was shaped like a drone aircraft!

Unfortunately, by the time I got my camera out, and pointed in the right direction, the unusual aircraft was quite aways away. So I apologize for the fuzzy photo (taken off hand with an 18 power zoom).

It certainly did look like a drone to us. AND even though it flew directly over us, it left no "exhaust trail" and made NO NOISE AT ALL! It was perfectly silent!

................ Is it just ME or are they following EVERYBODY? LOL!

Maybe Stony... check this out! http://www.washingtontimes.com/news/201 ... -near-you/ "Homeland Security has deployed drones to support disaster relief operations. Unmanned aircraft also could be useful for fighting fires or finding missing climbers or hikers,The FAA has issued hundreds of certificates to police and other government agencies, and a handful to research institutions to allow them to fly drones of various kinds over the United States for particular missions."

And this; https://www.eff.org/deeplinks/2012/01/d ... tching-you Here is an interesting paragraph, "However, there are some reasons to hope that the courts will find the ability of drones to monitor our activities constantly, both in public and—through the use of heat sensors or other technology—inside our homes, goes too far. For example, in a 2001 case called Kyllo v. United States, the Supreme Court held the warrantless search of a home conducted from outside the home using thermal imaging violated the Fourth Amendment. The Court held that, “in the sanctity of the home, all details are intimate details”—it didn’t matter that the officers did not need to “enter” the home to “see” them. United States v. Jones, argued before the Supreme Court this term, could also have ramifications for drones. The D.C. Circuit Court of Appeal’s opinion in this case held that warrantless GPS-enabled 24/7 surveillance of a car violated the Fourth Amendment, noting, “When it comes to privacy . . . the whole may be more revealing than the parts.” Though the outcome of the case at the Supreme Court is far from clear, the Court did seem surprised during oral argument that, under the government’s theory of the case, the justices themselves could be tracked without a warrant and without probable cause. Drones that use heat sensors to “see” into the home and that can track one or many people around the clock wherever they go are not much different from the technologies at issue in Kyllo and Jones."

Stony, after seeing the results of government tracking in the past with these drones, I suppose the next step will be one of those Hellfire missiles. And I want to be the first to tell you that it has been fun sparring with you on BT and that I will not come for any services after the strike, but when I read about it I will go out and hug a tree somewhere while thinking of you.

Hellfire, yeah, super effective even after 37 plus years, hunter liggett california, hellfire 1974. The original hellfire missiles were modified from the old TOW wire guided system that had a maximum range of 3000 meters. When converted to the laser system it was only effective to 5000 meters because the technology was in it's infant stages. They have come a long way since then, my unit operated the GLD (ground laser designator) in the R&D testings and we would light up the T-72 Russian tanks for the hellfire missiles.

Well, Bernie, if nothing else we have one thing in common. I taught the basic TOW missile classes at Aberdeen Proving Grounds in 1969. Ours were Huey mounted and used as tank (mainly) or bunker killers.

Stony, they are semi-activ laser guided. You're only chance is to move to a cave. (You know lots of them!) and come out only when absolutely necessary, if at all. You see what happened to OBL when he left his cave. The only reason HE didn't get missile struck was for the publicity of face to face confrontation. Even THAT went badly.
I was going to say that when you get settled in your cave let me know. But probably you should remain incommunicado as they may have radio triangulation to spot your location. I will assume any explosions in your area that aren't fracking related might be attempts (or success) in targeting you. SHould make for interesting reading in the papers and here!

I doubt that John has anything to worry about, hellfire from a drone is way too expensive and impersonal to waste on someone as impotent as Stony. Those kills are made not unlike a video game these days, some guy in Tampa joysticks death via a hellfire nose-mounted camera at the cost of lotsofcash.bomb.

Guitar, I was in RVN during your stint at Aberdeen, came back and took my initial TOW training in the swamps of Lousyanna.
