Let's not pretend that Bradford is something it is not!

Maybe instead of just complaining about how much you hate Bradford and what a horrible place it is, you could step away from your computer and DO something about it.

LOL! Who should "step away from their computer and do something about it"? I do my part, I only hope you are doing yours!

It's "not complaining' about something" that lets the "status quo" exist.

I'm out there every day actually "doing something". I can only hope that you are too!

The "computer" and this very site is an important tool for effecting change in Bradford ..... just ask the hundreds or thousands of people who read this each week, and in turn the thousands of people in Bradford who talk about what is read on here each week.

Anybody else notice the baby stroller in the snowbank lit by the backdrop of dozens of $8000.00 light poles lining Pitt boulevard?

Yeh, saw it yesterday. It creeped me out, like a post-modern "Rosemary's Baby"!

Let's all hope and pray it's not the case of the plow truck driver steering with his elbows as he text-ed, and come spring melt, a mother and baby's bodies are found under the snow bank.

But it's probably the case of an "average" drugged out couple who parked the buggy and carried or drug their infant down the street and totally forgot about their buggy.

Bradfords dirty underbelly is more frequently exposed, and we dont have a shirt long enough to keep it tucked in and hidden from view much longer, how long before illicit activity and the ne'er-do-wells eclipse legitimate business and citizenry? Its not that much of a stretch (pun intended) to imagine city fathers, law enforcement and the press collectively downplaying these kind of activities as to try and keep Bradfords image untarnished. We need to rally as a city before its to late and try and reverse this trend (that is if city fathers have the will or the stomach.) but to do that, we first have to admit that we have a serious problem.

I cant speak for Stony, he may legitimately hate Bradford... As for myself, and probably a lot of visitors to this site, we are venting our frustration for exactly the opposite reason, we love Bradford, grew up here, remember it how it once was, and are sickened to see what is happening to it. As Stony suggested, a lot of people do work behind the scenes in their own way to improve Bradford, and may prefer to keep it that way. I happen to know that Stony routinely picks up garbage around town, and is pretty serious about seeing the town cleaned up in more ways than one.

I love seeing Stony's pics on here. Investigative reporting and exposing! I also saw that stroller in the snow bank the other day. My first thought was, some lazy scummer got tired of pushing the kid in the snow, so just left the stroller there for someone else to take care of. (hopefully they got the 2 liter bottle of Mountain Dew out of it first) After all, the scummer can play on the sympathies of the liberals and get a brand new stroller tomorrow. To them they are disposable. Don't pay for them with their own hard earned money, so why should they care? My second thought was, a scummer stole that stroller, but gave up after pushing it a half block when they realized they were actually exerting energy. I don't hate Bradford, just Bradford scummers. Filthy sneaky leeches on society who have no real purpose.
