Here is a video somebody made of a water truck illegally dumping water along the road. This is happening way to often these days.

Dismal... I will be calling the company and reporting this guy. I also will be calling the DEP. He has no business ever driving a truck again! And regarding him losing his job over this; let him starve! Time to make an example...

When that snow melts isn't it going to turn into water too? Should God be fined?

I bet the snow won't turn to fracking fluid. If the guy wasn't doing anything wrong, he wouldn't have took off when he saw the camera. I could see if there is an accident and somebody spills some fluid, not their intention but still terrible... But this guy was maliciously dumping any number of chemicals by the side of the road. I hope the cameraman got a sample.

Somebody called before me, good.

Unbelievable, thanks to Hiram Lewis for filming this. He also grabbed
a sample of the fluid in a plastic water bottle that had been left for
trash. Ironic.

Hiram wrote: "Caught this guy dumping Frac Fluid on Rt 19
approximately 4 miles north of Washington, PA. He was parked and out
of the truck with water running when I drove by. I had my video camera
because I was on my way to my son's hockey game at Bethel Park.

When he saw me stop and search for my camera, he shut the water off, got in
his truck and drove away. This was Sunday morning around 9:39 am on
the 5th of December 2010. I called the PA DEP and registered a
complaint
.

From the video you can see it's:

EAST MOLINE, IL 61244

US DOT #: 1234235

JeffT, just to show how FOS you are, I also have a bottle of "stuff" that was illegally dumped. It may contain any number of unknown or unreported fracking chemicals or it may be "flow back water" that also may contain many different chemicals and compounds.

If you believe it is the same as melted snow, how about taking my challenge? YOU come over and drink what I have in the bottle, and I will drink the same volume of freshly melted snow. You can put your mouth where your rhetoric is?

You seem to have faith in what illegal dumpers are putting into our environment, and I would prefer the melted freshly fallen snow.

AND besides, EVEN IF it were pure, clean water he was dumping, IT WAS STILL ILLEGAL for him to dump it along the road above a stream without a proper permit!

And here is a bit of advise for Mr Lewis, Ryan and other concerned citizens who want to help protect our state and our homeland ..... ALWAYS CARRY A DIGITAL CAMERA! Wherever you go! 24/7!

AND for under $20 you can buy a digital meter that measures Total Dissolved Solids or TDS, and that will tell you instantly if you found dumped fracking or "flow back" or "produced" water, as it will be "off the scale" high in TDSes!

Some of the "water dogs" who measure pits, and streams are armed with digital cameras, TDS meters, and a GPS units (to document the exact location).

WE need a lot more people like Mr Lewis out there!

And JeffT ....... You my friend can carry a cup with you at all times and when you see a suspicious dumping of a fluid along the road you can stop and take a drink of it! LOL! Since you seem to think it may be as clean as the driven snow! LOL!

You are all guessing a lot. You have no idea what was in that truck. It could have been fresh water, it could have been frac fluid or it could have even been something else that isn't even water.

Stony Ryan and Taxpayer I will admit that the guy was in the wrong as soon as its proven to be something that is dangerous.

Keep in mind that the color of the liquid could have been caused by the person taking the water off of the ground. Dirt mixed with water makes that color.

Really? Taxpayer? How much of an asshole do you have to be to call someone a retard in this day and age? Simply because I won't jump the gun and call it fracking fluid without knowing. You really shouldn't call someone a name that you wouldn't call them in person and I know you well enough to know that you wouldn't dare do that to my face.

Well, JeffT is being completely disingenuous!

NOBODY would be dumping a load of CLEAN water! Not in this day and age. Not in that particular area where there is Marcellus Shale drilling and fracking going on.

As the ADP correctly pointed out to the DEC, anybody withdrawing water from streams is stealing our water! So they have to go to great lengths to acquire water legally, more often than not, by buying water from municipalities. Water around there is almost "worth it's weight in gold". Not really, but you get the idea.

ANYBODY with a water truck in that area with a full load of CLEAN water, would no doubt sell it to a drilling or fracking operation. Not park along the road and dump it illegally!

It wasn't clean water! It is obviously poisonous water that nobody can use ..... THAT is why he was dumping it.

Face it, it was a very predictable but despicable act, and this guy got caught red handed. Time for him to man up, and face the consequences, and pay the fines.
