I dare say if you asked 12 carefully selected republicans those same questions, you'd get the same answers!

I've voted in 8 presidential elections, and not once has the candidate I voted for won the election. I think I will vote for Obama this year!

For the first time in my adult life, I didn't vote last November and I didn't vote the primary this week. I guess I could blame it on my medical problems and mental state lately, but the real reason is I am sick to death of both sides being more concerned with fighting each other than doing what's right for the country. And I do feel that the repubs are more guilty of this.

America made a statement when they elected Obama, and whether you like him or not, he has not gotten one iota of cooperation or respect from the opposition and no one is willing to accept the sacrifices that are necessary to get this economy back on board.

Except those of us, of course, who could least afford to sacrifice and had no SAY in how much we were FORCED to sacrifice! It makes me sick.

I am very sorry that I voted for President Obama. I was sure that he would be a good and effective leader at that time. I was fooled by his incompetence and his lack of knowledge on many issues. I feel that he has surrounded himself with a group of morons who cause him more problems than they are worth.I don't think there is anything to be gained by his reelection. The country needs to move in a different direction. He is not a leader. Sorry but I think he probably would be pretty good at running a washing machine.

Yes, Gary, I am not brain dead. I am a registered Democrat. You might even say I am an enlightened Democrat. President Obama has certainly done some strange things in my opinion. Requiring people to buy health insurance and then telling the Supreme Court that they have to declare that part constitutional. Then he tries to tell the Catholic Church that they must go against the teachings of their religion by mandating Catholic hospitals and schools and charitable groups that they must cover issues that run contrary to their teachings. Freedom of religion means nothing to him. He is an arrogant and egotistical person to think he can run roughshod over the Constitution. I am Catholic and I resent his conduct toward my Church. He needs to go. Hopefully, more voters will see him in the true light this go round.

Well, I'm also a registered dem and a catholic and how anyone can be proud to be a catholic anymore is beyond me. Besides the corrupt people who run the governments of all countries, the catholic church is the most corrupt organization on earth. They've fostered and protected pedophile priests, benefit from tax laws ande make money hand over fist from "faithful." As for making the church go against its "teachings," please. The misogynistic ancient beliefs of the catholic church are no better than the islamic law of sharia. As for running roughshod over the constitution, how quickly we forget the Bush years.

Yes, Obama may have not have had as much experience as we'd have liked, but the dems themselves shot themselves in the foot by torpedoing Hillary, who would have done a much better job. Our only other choice was McCain and putting an airhead within a heartbeat of the presidency. If McCain hadn't been so stupid as to pick Palin as a VP, he might just have won, but people are not stupid, even tho the political leaders think we are. We picked the lesser of two evils.

There is no hope for this world, there is an international cabal in charge and the catholic church has a seat at that table.

Philly, Attacking the Church as you do is a matter for another topic. All I have to say on the subject I have said at this time. It is my belief that President Obama is wrong to require people to buy health insurance. I feel this is unconstitutional. I also feel he is wrong to try and mandate a religious organization to do something that is counter to their teachings. I feel that is also unconstitutional.

Hey, I don't want to pay car and home insurance, but I have to. I don't want to pay income tax, but I have to. How is that not unconstitutional? And the argument that I don't HAVE to have a car and home is specious.

We all have bodies that need caretaking. Anyone who doesn't have health insurance is an asshole. An asshole you and I are forced to eventually pay for. And if people can't afford health insurance it IS INDEED the government's duty to see that the health of them and everyone else is protected. I am shocked that an intelligent person such as yourself doesn't see this.

As for not forcing religious institutions to go counter to their beliefs, well, that's why the FLDS is still in existence, possibly the worst religious group next to the muslims, not only abusing young girls but taking advantage of our welfare system and tax laws. Do you know they don't finish the outside of their houses so they won't have to pay taxes on them? And they run business that take in millions.

Protecting our country's freedoms doesn't mean shooting ourselves in the foot! Some things must be mandated.
