Words still have meaning. In proper context they can convey specific ideas. Out of context, or etymological variations of words leads to nothing but muddying the waters (think of those awful TDS) .
I don’t believe I used the term “conservative” in my post. I did use the word “conservationists”. While those words share a common etymology, they have quite different meanings.


Those would be the self-avowed environmentalists… You know, the sort of folks who believe that humans are a plague upon the planet. That every foot-fall, breath, or other human action is somehow detrimental to the natural earth that Gaia intended—especially if someone makes a buck from it.


If you are speaking strictly of recording and reporting abandoned wells and their apparent condition, I’ll agree with you. There are those who give a shit, and then there are the apathetic masses.
