Yes, I got my buck! On the last day of bow season.

I was out hunting with my friend during bow season. My friend had a doe permit as well as a license to shoot a buck. Driving by a large field we spotted this magnificent large buck just milling about. So I had my friend stop the truck and I got out with my camera ......... My "choice" weapon! I snuck up as close as I could get and when the buck realized I was there, I started to softly talk to him. He must have realized I only had a camera with me and slowly walked around in three big circles while I took the following photos. I got very close to him at times.

I finally got about 30 feet away. I probably could have ran up to him and slapped him on his ass ....... if that was something I wanted to do.

He was a big old buck for sure! Over 200 pounds or more!

Not sure why some animals trust me enough to get real close to them!

I CAN get close to bear also .... but that is probably even a dumber idea.

Enjoy the photos!

Hard to tell there is a giant buck right in front of me!

Just his antlers to give him away

Notice how he camouflages so well

Also note the big a-typical rack!

When you get close enough to count the deers nose hairs ..... it's time to shoot!

BAM! That buck is mine! A perfect broad-side shot! From less than ten yards away!

(I'll bet somebody can solve the mystery photo now!)

That's a switch! Most people get sick to their stomach when they see me coming with my camera! LOL! The camera has always been my weapon of choice! I can "shoot" all the animals I want, and they are still there for others to enjoy!

And I don't need to kill animals to prove anything to anybody. Anybody who has been to a shooting range with me knows I can hit the target when I want to (sometimes at great distances) with a gun. Most of the time better than other shooters.

I probably could have "bagged" this buck with a slingshot or just by throwing a rock, had I wanted to! ...... Or even my shoe for that matter!

Maybe animals let me get close to them because they can sense I'm harmless!

So did anybody solve the "Mystery Photo"?

I was too stuck on the dog from a previous mystery photo to see that what I thought was a dog was actually the buck.

Once you know what it is, it's fairly easy to make out. But without knowing there is a giant buck there, it's pretty well hidden!

But you can make out it's antlers, it's ear and it's hind end.

Instead of "The Deer Hunter," Stony's movie will be "The Deer Peddler."

I wonder if he ran into it with his bike? (I'd have paid money to see that!)

Didn't someone post this LAST year?

Beautiful, Stony. Tho' I support hunting and love venison, I too was glad to see this majestic buck captured alive. Let's hope he impregnated a whoooole bunch of does this rutting season!
