More than 30 health and safety-related agencies will provide screening and tests
and conduct demonstrations during the annual health fair at Pitt-Bradford on Tuesday,
March 16.
The event, which is free and open to the public, will be held from 10 a.m. to 2
p.m. in the Mukaiyama University Room in the Frame Westerberg Commons.
Sponsored by the Pitt-Bradford Office of Health Services , the
fair features educational information, demonstrations and screenings.
Free screenings include blood pressure by the Pitt-Bradford Student Nurse
Organization; bone density by the Bradford Regional Medical Center School of Radiography;
glaucoma testing by Eye Care Professional Associates; body composition screening by the
Pitt-Bradford Division of Biological and Health Sciences ; cardiovascular
risk-factor assessment by Kane Community Hospital; and depression and eating disorder
screenings by Pitt-Bradford counseling services .
Metz and Associates , the food service provider at
Pitt-Bradford, will be playing the game, Are You Smarter Than a High Schooler?
Lenny Blue from United Therapeutic Massage will demonstrate massage therapy, and
Full Circle Complementary Therapy will present Reiki.
Other vendors include Active Minds, a national college-based mental-health
awareness and advocacy group; Adagio Health; American Red Cross; Bradford Family YMCA;
BRMC Center for Diabetes and Nutrition Education; BRMC Healthy Beginnings Plus;
Canticle Farm, a source for locally, naturally grown vegetables; Center for Adolescent
Pregnancy Prevention; Center for Organ Recovery; Community Blood Bank;
Community Nurses Inc.; Community Resources for Independence Inc., caring for
those with disabilities; Lisas Hairport; Pitt-Bradford Center for Rural
Health Practice , including its research on adolescent alcohol use ;
