Pitt-Bradford to honor Dilks with inaugural President’s Award for Excellence

BRADFORD, Pa. — Robert C. Dilks Jr. will receive the inaugural President’s Award for Excellence in Overall Performance by Staff from the University of Pittsburgh at Bradford.

Dr. Livingston Alexander, president, will present Dilks with the award during commencement exercises on May 1.

“Bob Dilks has served our campus well over an extended period of time and continues to take on new assignments on the Bradford campus and more recently on the Pitt-Titusville campus,” said Dr. Livingston Alexander, president of the Pitt-Bradford and Pitt-Titusville campuses.

“Bob has consistently demonstrated a deep commitment to Pitt-Bradford and his eagerness to step up to the plate whenever he’s called upon to help is part of what makes him special.”

Dilks is the assistant vice president of enrollment management and director of transfer and nontraditional student recruitment.

“Both parents and students continue to seek him out for advice and direction even after their experience in admissions is through and their enrollment is complete,” said Alexander P. Nazemetz, associate vice president of enrollment management, who nominated Dilks. “His presence is felt long after his work is complete.”

A 1989 alumnus, Dilks began his career at Pitt-Bradford the year he graduated with a Bachelor of Arts degree in public relations, serving as assistant director of admissions and recruiting freshmen throughout Pennsylvania, New York and New Jersey. Over the years, he helped to establish Pitt-Bradford’s Alumni Relations Office and served several years as the director of adult continuing education and business services, coordinating delivery of academic programming at the region’s higher education councils.

In nominating Dilks, Nazemetz cited Dilks’s current leadership as the interim director of admissions at Pitt-Titusville, where Alexander also serves as president. Dilks has served in that role for the past year while maintaining his duties in Bradford.

He lives in Warren, where he is an active member of the community, serving on the board of directors of the Warren Higher Education Council and the Warren City Planning Commission. He and his wife, Jennifer, have two teenage daughters.
