Pitt-Bradford petroleum technology club to show “FrackNation”
BRADFORD, Pa. – The University of Pittsburgh at Bradford’s Petroleum Technology Club will hold a free showing of the 2013 documentary “FrackNation” at 5 p.m. Saturday, April 16, in the Bromeley Family Theater in Blaisdell Hall.
“FrackNation” is a film made in response to “Gasland,” a 2010 documentary that claimed a gas extraction process known as hydraulic fracking has contaminated drinking water in eastern Pennsylvania with methane.
The makers of “FrackNation” interview many people in the communities portrayed in “Gasland” who came to a different conclusion.
“FrackNation” director Philim McAleer will also be present at the screening, which is free and open to the public.
